Elgie Bears
www.elgiebears.com/index.php?page=home
I live with my husband Len in a beautiful village called Askham Richard, just outside the historic city of York. I first became interested in bear making after wandering, quite by accident, into a bear fair being held in the Guild Hall in York. I was fascinated, and being lucky enough to have a talent for crafts, including lace making, needlework and knitting, I realised that bear making was something these talents could utilise. |

Michelle Lamb
www.oneandonlybears.com
The ability to create beauty from such unlikely disparate parts like fabric, hardware, glass, and fluff is a constant wonder to me and I want this wonder to come across in the faces of my buddies. Oftentimes I feel like a magical alchemy is at work which slowly emerges the more you fuss and finesse those final touches that pull the bear together and makes it go well beyond a craft, transcending over into the realm of art. My bears are individually crafted as one-of-a-kind works of art and I will take as much time as necessary needle- and scissor-sculpting a face until it's soul comes out and "speaks" to me. |

Aerlinn Bears

I have been making bears under the name Aerlinn Bears since 1994 working from a downstairs 'Bear Room' with a view of our garden and Mt. All Aerlinn Bears are made from the design stage to completion by me. |

Brendans Bears
brendansbears.co.uk/bearofthemonth.aspx
Brendan trained as a tailor and has been designing and crafting handmade, collectible bears since December 2006. Brendan's bears are usually made from mohair, have suede, ultra suede, reversed mohair or felt paw pads, are filled with regular or heavyweight polyester and some are partly plastic pellet, glass bead or steel shot filled. Each one-of-a-kind bear is traditionally constructed with glass eyes and cotterpin joints and, therefore, not recommended for people under 14 years of age. However, Brendan will happily make young person friendly bears to order. |

Bean Bruins

I live on the Beautiful Central Coast , just north of Sydney Australia , with my husband Brian and my two beautiful daughters Ashleigh & Samantha .......and not to forget the latest edition to our family ,sweet Sophie , she is a French Bulldog or wombat as we affectionatly refer to her " as she's small and very solid". I first started making bears in 2000 after a request from my Mum , I had spent years sewing when my mother had started making a couple of bears as a hobbie, she kept insisting that I give it a go.......... I finally gave it a go with my first bear being from a kit, it was quite an ugly little beastie but I didn't stop there. |

Wee Darling Bears
weedarlinbears.weebly.com/index.html
I have been making bears for a few years now, formally under the name "Crabapple Bears", appearing in specialist teddy magazines such as Teddy Bear Scene and Teddy Bear Times. I have always been very craft oriented since childhood, thanks to my mother, who is an artist. She always encouraged my creativity, so I have been sewing and knitting since I was 5 years of age. I trained as an industrial machinist, which I feel has helped me in the design elements of bear making. I generally work on one bear at a time, as I love seeing a completed bear so I can have a wee snuggle! |

Making bears is something that I have enjoyed, along with a variety of other art forms, for many years (starting in 1994). However, I discovered ebay as a market place for them in 2006 and things haven't been the same since! It's inspired me to go from making basic teddy bears to the extremely detailed work of a One Of A Kind Artist Bear! |

Bobbybaer
www.bobbybaer.com/html/home.html
THE YING & YANG - perfectly balanced world of Barbara Spiga And that it is ! In 1999, without artistic background neither visiting shows nor starting with buying a kit for a bear, I simply got hit and hooked the day when I received a greeting card that told me: Teddy bears dry tears and give comfort and tenderness to everyone who needs them. This became and still remains my slogan for creating bears and bear friends. I really had no clue where and how to find supplies or how to start anyway - but the worst: I didn't know how to sew!!!!!!!! Whatever - who cares about such details?? As always in my life I could count on my mum. She gave me encouragements, moral , practical and material help and to honour this continuous Engagement I decided to call my creations BOBBYBAER........as my mum's nickname is Bobby. From the beginning up to now I learned by doing and humbly can say that I made some huge leaps forward. All BOBBYBAER creations are designed and hand sewn by my own as OOAK. |

The Patchwork Ark
www.patchworkark.com/
Since childhood I have loved creating. I can remember learning to crochet at a young age which began a lifelong journey into the world of art. I began bear and doll making in 1995, using synthetic fur to create various sizes of bears. In 1996,I began designing my own miniature bears and cloth art dolls; and The Patchwork Ark was established. I enjoy learning new techniques and the challenge of designing. From the initial design to the final accessory, I do all the work myself. I enjoy creating each bear and doll to be as unique as each of us were created to be. My artwork is an extension of who I am; my hopes, dreams, thoughts, feelings and beliefs. I hope this can be seen in my work. |

FibreHeart
www.fibreheart.com/about-fibreheart.html
Hello All! I am a 33 year old mother of two beautiful girls. I have been crafting for many years now and I consider myself a \"jack of all trades\" kind of artist. I tend to be the sort that will be handed a pattern of a new technique or medium and I have to try to make it myself if reasonable. Our shop is something that I have dreamed about for a long time and hope to grow even bigger some day. I have always loved making things. A lot of things were lost with the invention of mass production and with the current economy I strongly believe it has opened the the flood gates to take things back to the basics. We are believers of the quality the handmade item has because we take the time on each item to try and make it the best it can be. |

The Beary Basket
www.etsy.com/shop/TheBearyBasket
I have been an avid crocheter since the age of 12 when my mother put a hook in my hand and showed me how to make a chain. The rest of my crocheting experience was self taught and thru the years I've crocheted everything from toys to clothing to home decor. I also knit, cross stitch and sew. As a young mother I started selling my hand made items at craft fairs with my mother and sister although we gave that up after about ten years. I graduated to Ebay and Etsy and now have my handiwork in homes around the world. I discovered this new world of miniature crocheted teddy bears in 2007 after seeing them on Ebay and was amazed at all the new materials and supplies that were available. Being a fan of miniatures and crochet this was appealing to me and I've probably made a hundred bears or more, many of which have new homes. |

Beyond Basic Bears
www.beyondbasicbears.com/
Bobbie began learning needle arts by knitting at 5 years old, going on to crochet, tatting, and various lace making and needlework techniques. This training has served her well, as she's learned the value of her Mother's and Grandmother's insistence that "it has to look as good on the inside as it does on the outside." Bobbie was introduced to the world of miniatures by an avid collector, her sister Rosemary Greene, who began Tedi Bach Hug miniaturist club in England. Bobbie began bear making at an Arizona convention in 1991, doing her first show in '92. |

Babcock Bears
www.babcockbears.com/
I live with my family in the rural town of Babcock, Wisconsin. This small town is where my grandparents grew up, married, and raised ten children. Six of them still reside in Babcock, including my dad. Many of my cousins and their families live in the surrounding areas. Wisconsin is known as "God's Country", and this is where I have settled with my family - my son Sean, daughter Jennifer, and their father Carl. And now, our granddaughter, Emily Ann, and our grandson, James, have joined us - the lights of our lives. Our family also includes 3 cats and 2 dogs! Our old farm house is surrounded by cranberry marshes and wildlife, including deer, foxes, coyotes, wolves, eagles and even black bears! My love for sewing and crafts has always been a large part of my life. So naturally, my drive for new challenges brought me into bear-making. It was just a hobby when I first started, but after I lost my job in a corporate take-over, my family persuaded me to try bear-making as a career. |

Bear Antics
www.bear-antics.zoomshare.com/0.html
I was born in Cardiff, South Wales in 1937, just two years before the start of World War 2. My mother was a tailoress and took in sewing of all kinds to help stretch the family budget, as my father was poorly paid as a cinema projectionist. However, as an only child I lacked for nothing, and as I was growing up I often helped my mother with the needlework i.e. invisible stitching hems of dresses etc. I recall the wedding dresses mum made of parachute silk because it was difficult to obtain enough clothing coupons to purchase material. One lady in particular, whose wedding dress Mum made, is now into her late eighties and still living in Cardiff. My interests were always craft related, besides sewing I was taught how to knit, a pair of mittens was the first item, and at the tender age of 8yrs old, I was also taught to crochet. |

Please call or e-mail if you are interested in a certain cat/bear. Cats/bears are adopted quite quickly and the cat or bear you are interested in may have found a home. But I can notify you, first, as new cats or bears become available. My usual procedure is to create your piece, photogragh it, then I would send a photo card with adoption/purchase instructions. This way you will be able to see the individual personality of your prospective adoptee before you decide to purchase. |

I cannot remember a time when I was not doing hand work and making something. My mom and her many sisters all had a hand in teaching me how to sew, knit, crochet and embroider. My introduction to bear making came in the early 1990s. It was love at first cut working with mohair and while my first teddy, Theodore, was not perfection, his hug was the motivation to continue and begin designing my own teddies. I now design bears, cats, mice, bunnies and elephants, along with other furry critters. |

This accounts for about half the cost of the finished bear. They will charm you with their soft touch and innocent glances. Each is one of a kind! |

I would like to take a moment to thank the collectors who purchased and loved my first attempts at bear making some 12 years ago and I also want to include all of you that supported me through the years when I gave Ebay a try. And now after a leave of absence, you have welcomed me back and encouraged me. Were it not for all of you, I could not have continued to evolve nor would I or the (ever evolving) "Bruin Beings," "Old Souls" & now the "Petite Bruin People" be here today. God Bless each of you and to each, you have my Heartfelt Thanks. |

gone to the dogs

Many years ago I made bears from purchased patterns that I gave away to family and friends as gifts and even sold a few. Making bears where familiar to me so I did some research and bought some books and found out what Artist Bears were. I was amazed how far Bears have come over the years. I thought I can do this, I started designing my own patterns in March 2008 and bought some high quality faux fur and Mohair and just went crazy. |

You would think that at the age of 69 I would've outgrown those feelings. But it just isn't so. I still love to pick up my teddy bears and hug them. It still gives me that same sense of comfort I felt as a little girl. It was my grandmother who taught me to sew from the time I was very young. It was a skill that I continued to develop throughout my years. So, when I decided to make teddy bears so I could share them with others, it was a natural step. |

Marthas Bears
www.marthasbears.com/adoptnow.htm
Hi there - let me introduce myself. . . My name is Martha Burch. I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin as the second oldest in a family of 10 kids. From the start, I loved to sew and "make stuff." We always had to entertain ourselves and this sparked my creative side. I began to make teddy bears in 1984. First, I needed Christmas gifts for my large and extended family, so I used some of the damaged textiles from my mother's antique shop. I made a few too many and took the rest in to the store. They sold the same day. |

Notchlok Bears
www.notchlokbears.com/
I guess I should tell you that I have been designing since 1994. I love designing. I start by sketching. My drawings are just an indication of an idea, and the idea can come from anywhere. People-watching, like watching animals, is fun, and I get a lot of ideas from both. Then I choose a fur that I think will create the effect that I am after. The pattern is the difficult part. Sometimes this takes a lot of patience. Sewing then completes the process. |

I've been making my bears and their friends for over 5 years. My collectible miniature thread crochet or sewn bears/creations are individually handmade using only the best quality yarns, threads, fibers and fabrics. Most are 3 inches or less in height. They are typically 5 way jointed for easy posing and each can stand or sit without support. Special attention is given to every detail as they are being created. A little bit of love is stitched into each one! |

Belly Button Bears
www.bellybuttonbears.com/Memories.htm
I love bears - any fabric or construction, size or style. I REALLY like being able to make a bear for someone that makes them feel good. One that may cause tears but preserves a memory, that they can hold and remember the love of a parent or child or friend. Bears have that ability anyway -- add the personal touch of making it from a treasured garment or chosen fabric and you have something special. Bears are friends for life, and one of ours will become a family heirloom. |

Michelle Lamb
www.oneandonlybears.com/
I became a fulltime bearmaker after an eighteen year career as a graphic designer/illustrator/muralist. "One&Only"Bears came to life February of 2000. The ability to create beauty from such disparate parts as fabric, hardware, glass, and fluff remains a constant wonder to me and it's my goal for this same magical wonder to come across in the faces of my bears. My bears are individually made to have their own unique personality and I spend as much time as necessary needle- and scissor-sculpting a face until it's soul comes out and "speaks" to me. Because of my painterly beginnings, I treat each bear like it's a portrait in need of layered depths of color, finish, perfection in proportion and composition and the ability to elicit strong emotional response. |

I began creating Artist Bears in 2005, after sculpting faeries and animals for some time. I was searching eBay for faeries and happened across a faery Teddy Bear and was amazed! I do still enjoy clay sculpting occasionally, as well as mural work and pencil drawing, but my passion is in soft sculpture Artist Bears. |

Sweet Souls

Although I've been creating bits of whimsy for as long as I can remember and even became a professional children's book illustrator I didn't discover the magic of teddy bears as an artform until 2003. Yards and yards of muslin and mohair later, as well as countless hours of pattern drafting, the face of Sweet Souls Bears emerged. Their design may appear simple but much work has gone into each and every bear with the hope of bringing you endearing little moppets filled with love. |

I am crazy about teddy bears and I want to share that love with others. I made my first teddy bear in 1984. Little did I know that I would be hooked for life on the process of creating this lumpy, weird-looking creature that smiled back at me. |

For those of you unfamilar with Rabbit Hollow Prims, I began a long while ago... 1989 to be exact. Aerlinn Bears
www.etsy.com/shop/aerlinnbears
I have been making bears under the name Aerlinn Bears since 1994 working from a downstairs 'Bear Room' with a view of our garden and Mt. Wellington, which is visible from most areas of Hobart and its surroundings. I find the temperate climate of Tasmania keeps the creative juices flowing and I still enjoy every bear I make. All Aerlinn Bears are made from the design stage to completion by me. |

Bumble Bears
www.bumblebears.com.au/available-bears.php
I first started making teddy bears back in 1999 when living in the cooler climate of Tasmania. I had just had my second child & love decorating, wanting a theme for her room. I came across a beautiful shop which was lined with teddies from floor to ceiling on old book shelves. And I envisioned my daughters room the same with her bed in the middle with a French Lace Canopy surrounded by these teddies. (Any child's dream). |

Beary Lovable Bears
www.blbears.com/
Beary Loveable Bears became a Trade Mark in 2002 when I started designing and creating my own mohair collectable bears. Having been taught by my Mum to sew, knit and embroider at a young age and then my early career in drafting, has helped greatly in the creation of my bear family. With never enough time to make bears whilst working as a secretary, I quit the work- force in 2003. Roy and I made a lifestyle change which enabled me to spend much more time working on my bears. |

I first started making bears in 2000 after a request from my Mum , I had spent years sewing when my mother had started making a couple of bears as a hobbie, she kept insisting that I give it a go... After a few months of developing my skills I started designing my own patterns, over the years I have won many awards, trophys and medals for my workmanship, all thanks to the one person who always new I could do it. |

Lombard Bears
www.lombardbears.com
It all started, or should I say, fell into place in the winter of 1985. Linda successfully completed her Bachelor of Arts, which led to several exhibitions and commissions of her sculptural works. She then went onto flirt, sometimes briefly, but always passionately with a range of things including photography, decoupage, doll making and collecting. The collecting thing turned out not to be a brief interest and included collecting bears, which sparked the whole bear making thing. |

My craft room IS in the back garden. Inside the little cottage, all my bears come to life. It is their home and each has its own space and a special place in my heart. The bears know that his or her future is secure because if I part with them they will be going to good homes where they will continue to enjoy a happy and carefree existence. |

After immigrating to Australia in 2003 with husband David and their two daughters, Susan joined a bear-making class. This sparked the desire to create her own unique teddy bears. Brimbin Forest Bears
www.brimbinforestbears.com
I started on the addictive road of bear making back in 1997 and I was influenced by some of the sculpted bears in my collection and a teddy bear magazine I had found in a store. At the time I was looking for something different to do and I thought 'I reckon I can do this', no practice runs for me straight in at the top with a pattern and a piece of mohair! With lots of misses and a few hits I progressed onto creating my own designs. |

Bearied Treasures
www.bearied-treasures.com/
I started collecting bears about 20 years ago and after an injury in a car accident. It was then that I decided to have a go at creating them; I figured it would be cheaper to make my own. Who was I kidding? Have you seen how many different kinds of mohair, alpaca, mink etc that there are? I had to have a studio built to house all of my 3000+ bears and their paraphernalia, as well as a space for this never ending supply of bear making stuff. Then of course there are the reborn dolls, but that |

Aussie Felts
www.aussiefelts.com/adoptions.php
In February 2008 I purchased a needle felting kit that would teach me how to make teddy bears. I never did make those bears. My very first item was a yellow cylindrical shape. It wasn't meant to be anything in particular, I just wanted to see how the needles felted the wool. I then took the rest of the wool from the kit and created a pink cat. Even though I had basic instructions on how to needle felt from the kit, I consider myself to be self taught. I've never taken a class and i've developed my technique through trial and error. I've always been a crafty/artistic type of person. I can draw. I'm pretty good at coming up with ideas and I really enjoy just creating in general...but I have to say i've finally found the craft i'm passionate about. I only wish I had learnt about it much sooner. |

CC Bears
www.ccbearsaustralia.com/bears.htm
I have been designing my own original bears since 1999 and started making my doggie series in 2003, followed by Kitties in 2007. During this time I had a website done and have sold a lot of my designs here in Australia and overseas. My bear making is purely a hobby which I enjoy in my spare time, especially when they give other people pleasure and are appreciated by their new adoptive parents. The most enjoyable part for me is the end result when they finally come to life! I still try to make a few bears in between making my dogs, but I find that at the moment I enjoy making my dogs as I see so many faces I would love to re-create and produce. I'm finding that I am having no trouble in finding homes for my Aussie canines as their individuality & expressions are hard just too hard to resist. |

I am Carol Kelsen, a soft sculpture artist living on the beautiful Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. I've been making artist bears professionally since 1997 but unfortunately haven't created as many as I would have liked. Isn't that what every bear-maker, artist, novelist says about their craft? The bears I did make were sold via shows or fairs I managed to attend, very rarely on ebay, but generally privately to those avid collectors I was lucky to meet. Now self employed and able to manipulate my spare time more creatively I've returned to something I love...creating soft sculptures. |

Jenny Loves Benny
www.jennylovesbenny.com/shop.html
My passion for 'collectable' bears grew when I received my first 'hand-made' bear from a very special friend. I started to create and make my own bears, initially for friends as gifts and very quickly, it became an addiction (which I'm sure a lot of you understand!). In 2005, I returned home to Australia and started making bears full time. Half the fun for me is designing the bear, I love the freedom of having no boundaries and I can give the bear whatever shape I like. I designed all my bears and a lot of my inspiration stems from beautiful things and animals. |

Hi! I'm Nancy Tillberg. Teddy Bear Making is one of the greatest joys in my life and I've been making bear for 16 years. Recently, I've also started creating dolls, as this seemed to be a natural creative progression for me. Most of my bears are made from mohair, plush or genuine reclaimed fur garments. Custom orders from your old fur garments are welcome. I do not work with new pelts or endangered species. My bears and I have appeared on National television, and I have had the great pleasure of having two books published about bear making: 'Teddy Bears with a Past' and '101 Bears to Make. |

A few years ago I discovered the crocheted bears made by wonderful artists on ebay and those tiny bears captured my heart! I sat at my computer for hours watching them and tried to figure out how they were made, so tiny and detailed, and also fully jointed. They could pose any way you wanted. Head, arms and legs could move. I had to make one! After so many attempts I finished my first miniature bear from thread. To this day I have made so many of them. Some now live in far away countries and some of them are with me. I make the patterns of the bears I design for others to learn this wonderful art. |

L'ours tombe des etoiles
www.l-ours-tombe-des-etoiles.fr/en/adoption.html
My name is Anne-Marie Verron, I've been making artist bears since 2006. Why "L'ours tomb etoiles"? Because it means " the bear fallen from the stars". I believe this name suits my bears very well, because they all look very lonely, as if they were looking for a new home down on the Earth. |

Cloudbearies
www.cloudbearies.com/
I discovered bear making in 2008 thanks to a creation kit. I immediately fell in love with the first miniature bear I had created , but it was still far from perfect ... Then I decided to create my own bear, and designed my very first pattern. I was so happy and proud to have given birth to this little creature that I immediatley wanted to make many others ! I used to make only miniature bears but tend to create bigger bears now. |

Un nours en pluch
unoursenpluch.fr/
I've always loved teddies and plush. I must confess I took advantage of my children's births to buy dozens and dozens..... One day, I discovered needle felt technique on some forums I follow. This technique uses felted wool and special needles. When you repeatedly sting those through the wool you come to sculpt all sorts of shapes. I then thought I could make my own models. Special thanks to my friend Vic as she sent me some wool to make a try. Without her, I maybe not have started at all. |

Ledi Teds
www.lediteds.com/
It all began years ago, when I started hunting teddy bear fairs. One day I decided to buy a pattern, because it seemed kind of fun to create my own teddy bear. I noticed how great I felt seeing the final result. So, at the next fair I bought another pattern; this went on for a while so that in the end I came home with bags packed with material. Since I was getting more and more experienced, every new bear looked better than the previous one. And after a while I just grabbed a piece of paper and tried to design a teddy bear myself, and actually this went quite well. |

BeauT Bears
www.beautbears.nl/
The history of BeauT Bears is probably quite similar to the histories of so many other teddy bear artists, with one difference: at first I absolutely did not want to have anything to do with teddy bears. Actually BeauT Bears thank their existence to the perseverance of one of my sisters (who was convinced I was absolutely-going-to-enjoy-bearmaking, and she happened to be so right) and the fact that one day, early 1997, I could not resist a piece of plush fabric that crossed my path! My sister provided me with the necessary things such as eyes and joints, and soon after my first bear was born. At that time living in the city of Dordrecht less than a 5 minutes walk from one of Holland's most renowned teddy bear shops, speeded up my bear-making and designing skills. Ever since BeauT Bears are made from quality mohair or alpaca. |

Huwibears
www.huwibears.ch/cubecart/index.php
I wanted more so I bought a pattern and began sewing and changing it. But I still did not feel pleased its legs were too short ..the arms and the head did not suit me. It was just not what I wanted...I wanted my OWN BEAR ....MY OWN CREATION. And so I began to draw..erase..and draw..and believe me many pieces of paper landed in the garbage till I finally had my first acceptable OWN PATTERN. The sewing was no problem at all ...because I love to sew and it had always been my hobby...but creating my own pattern was quite a challenge for me. I have always loved the traditional old fashioned bears with the cute cuddely look. So I began creating that type and I got addicted (but believe me its a healthy addiction!!)to making them. |

Bears of Bath
www.bearsofbath.co.uk/forsale.html
My bears are a combination of all the things I have done as an artist. From graphic design, stained glass, embroidery, glass engraving, textiles, painting and weaving. Where the inspiration came from, I am not sure, but I do like to walk around the city (Bath) and along the river Avon with it's narrowboats and tour boats. It may sound silly but it's almost as if the bears really do live here amongst the Bath stone Regency buildings. Is it a coincidence that so many of the colours of the stone and sky appear in my bears? |

Brendan trained as a tailor and has been designing and crafting handmade, collectible bears since December 2006. Brendan's bears are usually made from mohair, have suede, ultra suede, reversed mohair or felt paw pads, are filled with regular or heavyweight polyester and some are partly plastic pellet, glass bead or steel shot filled. Each one-of-a-kind bear is traditionally constructed with glass eyes and cotterpin joints and, therefore, not recommended for people under 14 years of age. However, Brendan will happily make young person friendly bears to order. |

Wee Beary Tales
www.cherishedlittleones.co.uk/BearGallery2.html
It wasn't until I had to have my tonsils removed a few years ago that I made my first proper bear!!(proper - as my previous attempts at bear making when I was a lot younger were experimental! my mum was always making things when I was growing up - knitted characters, wax dolls etc and she made little miniature bears for a time and they often ended up being adopted by me! and when she showed me how to make one they never seemed to look quite like hers - lol!) From then on I was hooked! I made bears for friends and family and now I make them full time. I really love colour and my creations usually reflect this and are often bright and sometimes quite wild! |

ve been making Teddy bears now for just over 2 years now, but i havnt long started to sell them on Ebay, my bears have gone all over the world, and are now happy with their new families. The only onething, if any, about making my bears is that i have to let them go at the end , i fall in love with the fur at the start and even more so when there is a little face looking up at me at the end. I hope you like my bears, or even more, love them as much as i do.:D |

The Littlest Thistle

I began to make bears in 2002 after picking up a kit at a fair that was only ever held once in East Kilbride, just after I'd graduated from university. I spent a number of years creating bears from a number of different artists from around the world. Whilst I was living in South Africa in 2007 I was encouraged to start making my own bears by the lady at Honeydew Bears. |

I have been making bears for around 4 years. I enjoy making a variety of different styles and sizes of bears, they range from around 3 inches to about 16 inches. My favorite fabric is mohair or alpaca but I do sometimes fall in love with a nice piece of synthetic to create a bear with. |

Beth's Bears
www.elizabethleggat.co.uk/
I am a Scottish teddy bear artist who has been designing and creating Edwardian style miniature mohair bears since 1995. I am passionate about old teddy bears and try to incorporate their charm and charisma in my own little creations. Inspiration for this collection comes from comes from old German and English teddy bears. Great care and attention to detail is taken to achieve the overall look. The shape of the bears is reminiscent of the early designs with a pronounced snout, long arms, boot button style eyes, big feet and a slight hump on the back. |

Holdingham Bears
www.holdinghambears.com/bears/
We started out by making a bear for a friends 40th birthday - not being happy with the pattern I started to play around at designing my own patterns and so one bear turned into another and another... and the rest they say is history! I can be seen at Bear Fairs accompanied by either my husband, Peter, my daughter, Laura or even occasionally my son, Andrew! - we really are a bear loving family. |

I paint miniature watercolour designs such as fairies, teddy bears, fairy bears, unicorns, dragons, bunny rabbits and other fairy folk/animals onto shrink plastic.Once shrunk in the oven the images shrink to about a quarter of their original size, with each finished painting now being on average around 1 inch tall, whilst still retaining all the detail.I then add a little sparkle somewhere on the painting so that they may either be bought as a miniature painting to put in a frame, or with gold thread to hang up and catch the light. |

Tillington Bears
www.tillingtonbears.co.uk/
Tilly designs personally every bear that we make. Experienced makers are able to look at a bear and see that Tilly created it. Then there are things that you can't see: things like double-stitched hems, and every part is trimmed back to the stitch line to ensure that everything fits together perfectly. Every bear we make has the sewn-in label that guarantees that you are getting a genuine Tillington bear. |

Padgate Bears

My name is Lee and I am 34 years old and live in a small village called Padgate, Warrington. I studied Art and Interior Design in my home town of South Wales and also run an interior design service, which has taken me to many parts of the UK and the South of France. When I think back I have always had a fascination for old traditional jointed bears and started to collect a few along the way. Then a few years ago I wanted to make a special keepsake gift for friends and family, and the life of the dolls began, followed by the bears. |

Pipkins Bears
www.pipkinsbears.com/
My love of bears evolved into a love of creating in 1997. I found a local bear shop and bought my first artist bear and teddy magazine , soon I was visiting local shows and buying fabrics and patterns . I played around with the patterns and my first attempt was not good but very therapuetic . I was a frequent visitor to the shop and by the end of 1998 the lady who sold me my first artist bear was stocking bears designed and created all by myself. I loved it then and still love it now. |

Joxy Bears
www.joxybears.com/
I am based in England and live in a small town on the East Yorkshire Coast . As I was born a little further up the coast, in Whitby, I give some of my bears a piece of Whitby jet to take to their new home. The rest of my bears are either called 'Beachcombers' or 'fossil finders' and they have their very own 'beach gem or fossil to take to their new hug. All of these gems and fossils are carried in a backpack, pouch, pendant or pocket (see descriptions below). All the bears you see on this site are my own original design and are completely hand sewn by myself in a smoke free environment. They are all single edition or 'one off' bears though I can make a similar bear if the one you like has been sold. This way they can all keep their own individual and unique character. |

It's amazing what can be made by hand with a length of thread or yarn, and I want to share with you the joy of creating an article with either a crochet hook, knitting needles or a tatting shuttle. Having enjoyed needlecraft of all varieties since a young child, it was late 2007 that I saw, and fell in love with, thread crochet bears and animals. I soon became an apprentice member of the Thread Artist Guild, and have since progressed to becoming an Artist member. |

Ambrosia Bears
www.ambrosia-bears.co.uk/
Once upon a time, there was a girl who really enjoyed making teddy bears, but she felt there was one special bear who was waiting to be made, but who, for some reason, had not yet decided to appear. The girl bought the most beautiful alpaca she could find; it was soft and pink and she couldn't help stroking and stroking it, wandering what sort of bear would like to be made from it. While she was doing this, she heard a silvery giggle coming from above her head, and the shape and appearance of the owner of this laugh come into her mind. The girl thought, 'This is truly a divine little bear; she is definitely of the goddesses, and her name will be Ambrosia! I will try and persuade her to come to Earth as a real teddy bear, where she can enjoy the delights of our flowery garden.' |

Bears by Pauline Collison
www.xipitotec.co.uk/main.html?src=%2F
Pauline was born an asthmatic and during her childhood had to be protected from household dust where possible as this was conducive to the illness. As a result of this and the fact that most cuddly toys at that time could not be washed, her mother was forced to make the decision to ban her from having a Teddy Bear. Although she still suffers from asthma, being older it is easier to take steps to reduce the chance of an attack so such extreme measures are no longer necessary. Consequently her husband purchased a Teddy Bear for her from Asquiths as a valentine present in 1990 and thus started her collection. In an attempt to get an unusual present for her birthday in 1996 her husband took her to Oakley Fabrics to choose a pattern and fabric to make a bear to add to her collection. This bear was named Kit as this was how he arrived and Pauline enjoyed making him to such an extent that she decided to make them for sale. |

Each bear comes with an attached label in their back and a small laminated tag stating name and date of birth. |

Eden Bears
edenbears.blogspot.com/
Every bear I create is cut from a pattern originated and drawn by myself from start to finish then sewn together entirely by hand at every stage, resulting in each one being unique and One-Of-A-Kind. I will always make a design alteration to every new bear I create in my quest to design the pattern I am ultimately happy to call my very own style. In the meantime, as my own bear style evolves, I hope that throughout my learning curve and journey, I can produce a bear that will make you smile or fall in love with enough to want to give him or her a new home! |
